Shift Engineer 2022-07-18

We are looking for a multi-skilled shift engineer with a good knowledge of repairs and maintenance to join our busy Maintenance Department. As a Shift Engineer/Handyperson, you will be responsible for carrying out repairs in the hotel. Your duties include, but are not limited to, general maintenance-related disciplines, including; plumbing and minor electrical, etc. You must have the ability to prioritize the work on preventative maintenance procedures and respond to guest requests as required. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within the hospitality industry and enjoys working unsupervised and in various schedules. A qualification in electrical and plumbing, would be an advantage but not essential.

Your main duties include (but are not limited to):

• Carrying out daily plant and equipment inspections
• Carrying out corrective and preventive maintenance duties
• Carrying out daily fire, life and safety checks
• Recording and keeping a logbook of all relevant information
• Liaising with external contractor when required

MAIN JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carryout daily plant and equipment inspections
• Carryout corrective and preventive maintenance tasks
• Working closely with contractors on projects
• Liaising with external contractor when on site
• Maintain professional and ethical relationships and effective communications with department heads and your colleagues
• Focus on Service Delivery to our guests
• Maintain awareness of any potential problems in the hotel and report to the Area Chief Engineer
• A minimum two years’ experience in a similar environment
• Self-motivated and positive attitude
• Exhibits high level of attention to details and the ability to multi-task handling
