GROUP DIRECTOR OF FOOD & BEVERAGE (MALAYSIA)
As a Group Director of Food & Beverage, he/she is responsible for driving business performance and business growth for all F&B of DHI hotels in Malaysia. He/She is required to work closely with all General Managers to develop a strategic plan in line with the regional goals and objectives across the area.
He/She is the strategic business leader of the Group‘s Food & Beverage and Culinary Operations including restaurants, lounges, room service, banqueting, catering and executive club lounge.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees the development and implementation of departmental strategies and ensures implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiative. He/She ensures the food & beverage and culinary operation meet the brand’s target customer needs, ensures employee satisfaction and focuses on growing revenue and maximizing the financial performance of DHI hotels in Malaysia.
- Develops and implements nationwide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand’s target customer and employees and provides a return on investment.
- Ensure all KPIs target and profit objectives are delivered across the area. He/She will develop a network of contacts to research new market opportunities, make sales projections and forecast revenue in line with projected income.
- Able to lead and direct F&B operations, ensuring quality service and standards are maintained to deliver a memorable guest experience.
- He/She will be responsible for bringing creativity and variety to our F&B offerings. Also, he/she will manage the financial aspects of the F & B and Culinary departments as to achieve the budgeted revenues, profit and F&B costs whilst maintaining food and beverage quality.
- He/She would work closely with the Sales & Catering, Marketing Communications as well as Banquet teams to maximize the business results.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Develops and manages F&B budget, monitors the department’s actual and projected sales to ensure revenue goals are met or exceeded.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modelling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Understanding market dynamics, enterprise level objectives and important aspects of the company’s business to accurately diagnose strengths and weaknesses, anticipate opportunities and risks, identify issues, and develop strategies and plans. Aligning individual and team actions with strategies and plans to drive business results.
- Develops a F&B operating strategy that is aligned with the brand’s business strategy and leads its execution.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Must possess at least Diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Food & Beverage Services Management or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in a similar capacity in a 5-star international hotel.
- Excellent business communication skills (verbal and written Bahasa Malaysia & English).
- Strong leadership skills, interpersonal. organizational and analytical skills.
- Performance driven, assertive, self-motivated with positive attitude.
- A team player with good problem-solving skills and possess high degree of integrity.
